QPR - Swansea Preview: Hughes seeks home win in Laudrup's first Premier League match

New arrivals Robert Green and Ryan Nelsen are set to start in goal and at centre-back respectively, while Fabio Da Silva, on loan from Manchester United, could ahead of left back over Armand Traore who suffered a hamstring injury in pre-season.

Djibril Cisse has featured up front either with Bobby Zamora in a 4-4-2, or with Adel Taarabt behind him in an attacking midfield position. In the absence of Joey Barton through suspension, Shaun Derry or Alejandro Faurlin could feature alongside Samba Diakite in central midfield.

Jamie Mackie sustained a calf injury ahead of the match, but new signings Park Ji-Sung, from Manchester United, and Junior Hoilett, from Blackburn, represent options on the flanks, as do Shaun Wright-Phillips and Kieron Dyer.

Swansea have little by way of injury worries, while centre back Chico and midfielders Jonathan De Guzman and Michu could make their Premier League debuts, having signed over the summer to replace the departed Steven Caulker, Joe Allen and Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Left back Neil Taylor and winger Scott Sinclair could also feature, having appeared for Team GB at the London 2012 Olympics.

• QPR narrowly avoided relegation in their final match last season, finishing one point above the drop zone in 17th place.

• The Hoops replaced manager Neil Warnock after a poor start with Mark Hughes, who led his team to survival after making a string of high-profile signings including midfielder Samba Diakite and forwards Djibril Cisse and Bobby Zamora.

• This summer Hughes has since added to his side with the arrivals of goalkeeper Rob Green, full back Fabio, centre back Ryan Nelson, midfielder Park Ji-Sung and forwards Junior Hoilett and Andy Johnson. 

• Last season the west London side drew 1-1 with Swansea at the Liberty Stadium, but then emerged 3-0 victors in the return match at Loftus Road.

• Swansea ended the season comfortably in 11th place, despite having achieved promotion only via the play-offs in the preceeding season.

• Manager Brendan Rodgers received plaudits over the course of the campaign for his methodical, possession-based approach, but has since moved to Liverpool, with Danish international legend Michael Laudrup appointed as his replacement in an attempt to preserve the club's approach.

• The Welsh club lost key players Steven Caulker, who returned from a loan spell to Tottenham, midfielder Joe Allen who followed Rodgers to Liverpool, and Gylfi Sigurdsson, who also signed for Tottenham, but have already made replacements in the form of centre back Chico and midfielders Jonathan De Guzman and Michu.
   
• Striker Danny Graham (pictured) was the club's top scorer last season with 12 after arriving from Watford, and has continued his form into pre-season, scoring six goals in his last three games.
