Sporting Clube de Goa, after losing James Moga to Pune FC, have signed Cameroonian striker Bertrand Benik Tequwa Bong for I-League season 2012-13.

"We have signed him (Bong) for this season," the club's CEO Victor Fernandes revealed to Goal.com while also confirming that the club is skeptical of signing an Asian this term.

"Unless maybe the rules change, we are thinking not to sign an Asian player. We can play only three foreigners at a time, so keeping one foreigner on the bench does not make sense," he opined.

Meanwhile, the club's chief coach Soibam Ekendra Singh has admitted that he is impressed by the former Al-Shamal Sports Club player in the team's pre-season.

"The training is going on now. The foreign recruit from Cameroon (Bong) is very interesting. He is taking part in the training," he conceded.

Moving on with the core retained
