Arda Turan has reaffirmed his commitment to the
Atletico Madrid cause, amidst speculation
Galatasaray could be interested in re-signing the 25-year-old.
The attacking midfielder scored two goals in 12 appearances on the way to firing
Los Rojiblancos to Europa League glory, and he insists building upon that feat is an ambition he shares with his teammates in the upcoming season.
"I am happy to stay here," the Turkey international told
AS. "I have three more years on my contract with Atletico Madrid, and I intend to fulfill it."
"The fans' affection for me is incredible. I work hard to their love and support. The players here also a fantastic group; we're basically like a family.
"I feel very comfortable here, and know we can achieve great things together. Diego Simeone is a great coach who always explores better ways to do things.
"From next season onwards, we will take each game as if it were a final, to ensure things go smoothly. The European Super Cup is our first target, and we will chase it with all our hearts."
Arda arrived at the Madrid outfit
for a fee in excess of €12 million. He will now be joined at the Vicente Calderon by compatriot
Emre.
