TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, Markus Babbel
Hoffenheim coach Markus Babbel has hit out at
Germany boss Joachim Low for his failure to personally inform Tim Wiese of his omission from the squad for next week's friendly against Argentina.
The former Stuttgart coach
preferred the likes of Manuel Neuer and Ron-Robert Zieler over Wiese, but asked his goalkeeping coach Andreas Kopke to tell the 30-year-old of the bad news rather than contact him personally.
"The national team coach's behaviour in this matter is simply disastrous. This is very weak," Babbel was quoted as saying by
Sport Bild.
"Wiese has helped German football make steps forward over the years and has always shown exemplary behaviour.
"He deserved a personal explanation from Low. I can not agree with the way Tim was informed of his omission from the squad."
Germany take on Argentina on Wednesday August 15.
