Agent reveals Villarreal's Nilmar nearing January move to Roma

The agent of Villarreal forward Nilmar has claimed that his client is on the verge of signing for Roma.

The Giallorossi reportedly had a €22 million bid for the Brazilian rejected over the summer but the player’s representative, Orlando da Hora, claimed last month that talks were ongoing with the Serie A side and he has now revealed that an agreement has almost been reached.

"I can only say we're going strong and I think I can close a deal with Roma," the agent is quoted as saying by Super Deporte.

Nilmar had a fine 2010-11 campaign with Villarreal, netting 17 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions, but he has struggled for fitness and form this season and has scored just twice in La Liga.
