Roma have announced the signing of full-back Dodo on a free transfer following the player's release by
Corinthians.
The proposed deal had been subject to the 20-year-old Brazilian proving his fitness to the club given he suffered a cruciate ligament injury last year
, but he passed a medical on Monday and was formally confirmed as a
Giallorossi player just over 24 hours later.
"A.S. Roma announces that it has agreed a sporting contract with Jose Rodolfo Pires Ribeiro [Dodo] for a duration of five years, with effect from today [July 3] until June 30, 2017," a statement on the club's official website read.
"The player arrives from S.C. Corinthians Paulista, with whom his contract was simultaneously terminated upon his signing with A.S. Roma."
Dodo, who was a part of the Brazil Under-17 side that won the South American championship in 2009, spent last year on loan at Bahia.
