Manchester City starlet John Guidetti has admitted that he dreams of playing in Serie A one day and revealed that he would love to line out alongside
Lazio striker Miroslav Klose.
The Sweden international has established himself as one of the most exciting young strikers in Europe during a productive loan spell with Feyenoord last season.
Guidetti has now returned to the Etihad Stadium, but has since been linked with a switch to Italy, a prospect that appeals to him greatly due to his roots.
"My grandfather was Italian," he explained in an interview with the
Corriere dello Sport. "We originated in Ferrara and I've been coming to Italy on holiday for years.
"The bond is strong and my family still has an apartment in Rome. I've always dreamed of playing in Serie A one day."
As a result, there has been talk of a move to Lazio, perhaps on loan for a year, and Guidetti freely admits that he would savour the opportunity to partner Klose in the
Biancocelesti attack.
"He's a great player in the area. He has scored goals everywhere he's been," the 20-year-old forward enthused.
"If I could play next to him, I'm sure I would learn a lot. We could be a productive partnership; we would mesh well together."
Guidetti, who joined City from Brommapojkarna in 2010, scored 20 goals in 23 Eredivise appearances for Feyenoord last term.
