Emre Belözoğlu (Atletico Madrid)
Emre will line up in La Liga for the first time next season but already knows plenty about his new club Atletico Madrid, courtesy of his time playing under Luis Aragones.
The playmaker joined the Rojiblancos on a free transfer this summer and says that Aragones, who coached the Turkey international at Fenerbahce in 2009, played a big part in his decision to join the Europa League winners.
"Before coming I knew he [Aragones] had been an important character for this club and before signing I spoke with him. I was curious and called his translator in Turkey, and sent questions to him. Luis explained to me what this [Atletico] shirt means," he told AS.
"Aragones is a very special person. There was never a coach in Turkey with his knowledge. He is a great character."
Emre is excited about the challenge of playing at the Vicente Calderon, alongside compatriot Arda Turan and the 31-year-old believes his arrival will benefit both Turkish players. "I had other options in China and Russia, but I wanted to play three more years at the highest level. I was looking for a great club with good players and, also, here I have my brother Arda. "Arda is already an idol here. It's exciting, Arda told me about the club and we are eager to begin. We have to give everything for this shirt and make those in Turkey proud."
