Sturridge targets Chelsea centre forward role

The 22-year-old struggled to force his way into the first team at the back end of last season after a promising start, and is now looking to establish himself as a striker

Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge is hoping to become a regular starter in the Blues' line-up next season in his preferred position as a centre forward.

The 22-year-old made a positive start last season and managed 13 goals in all competitions, but found himself on the fringes on the first team in the second half of the campaign.

He has made no secret of his desire to play as a striker after regularly featuring out wide, and his chances of doing so have improved after the departure of Didier Drogba.
