Santos president Luis Alvaro Ribeiro has likened Neymar to Superman, after the youngster played in matches for his club and Brazil on consecutive days.

The 20-year-old returned to South America just hours after appearing for the Selecao during their 3-0 win over Sweden on Wednesday, so that he could represent Peixe against Figueirense the following day.

Neymar was on the scoresheet and provided an assist, as the Sao Paulo side secured a vital 3-1 victory away from home. And his performance prompted high praise from the club's president.

"I suspect that his father came from Krypton and brought the boy [Neymar] to Earth in a rocket, because the only thing that makes sense is if he is Superman," Alvaro Ribeiro joked to Globo Esporte.

Santos' next match is against Corinthians on August 19.
