Chelsea have handed new signing Eden Hazard a Premier League debut as they begin their new season with a trip to the DW Stadium to face Wigan.

The big-money summer signing takes his place in the team although the European champions will be without Ramires who is unwell and misses the match, Ryan Bertrand is his replacement.

Elsewhere David Luiz partners John Terry at centre-back, Frank Lampard, Juan Mata and John Obi Mikel also feature with Fernando Torres leading the attack for the Blues.

New signing Oscar has to make do with a place on the bench as do Gary Cahill, Michael Essien and Daniel Sturridge.

Wigan, meanwhile, include Chelsea target Victor Moses in their starting XI as well as new signing Ivan Ramis who has joined the club from Mallorca.

Al Habsi; Boyce, Alcaraz, Caldwell, Figueroa; Maloney, McArthur, McCarthy, Ramis, Moses; Di Santo.
