Abdallah has spent the last five years with Ghanaian side International Allies FC, and played there alongside current Whitecap and countryman Gershon Koffie from 2008-2010. He is also a member of the Ghanaian U-20 player pool.

“Aminu is a big, young, powerful player with huge potential,” said head coach Martin Rennie in a club statement. “He is a left-footed, box-to-box player who can bring a lot to the team with his ability to win balls in the air and connect passes.”

The 6-foot-3 midfielder has previously trained with European giants PSV Eindhoven, CSKA Moscow and Juventus, according to the Whitecaps.

“I am very excited to join Whitecaps FC,” Abdallah said in a club statement. “I am going to work hard and try my best to make the club and fans proud.”
