Cruz Azul making push for attacking help


Cruz Azul is pushing ahead in an effort to sign Atlas forward Milton Caraglio, according to Record.

La Maquina struggled in front of goal in the Clausura and have made an offer for the Argentine but are yet to get a response from the Guadalajara club. 


Monterrey moves for Gallardo 


Pumas winger/left back Jesus Gallardo is leaving Mexico City to join Monterrey, according to ESPN Mexico .

Gallardo plays wide for his club but is headed to Russia with the Mexico national team largely as a left back. The move could set off a chain reaction with Pumas looking to bring in Tijuana attacker Víctor Malcorra. The Universitarios also have their eyes on Atlas goalkeeper Miguel Fraga. 


Aguilar returning to Mexico City


Pablo Aguilar is leaving Tijuana to sign with Cruz Azul, according to Esto.

The Paraguyan center back starred as he returned to Club Tijuana in the Clausura after playing several tournaments with Club America. New Cruz Azul sporting director Ricardo Pelaez, who previously had the same role at America, needs to sign defensive replacements with Enzo Roco and Julian Velazquez set to leave the club. 


Options for Lobos BUAP player


Lobos BUAP midfielder Pedro Aquino, who was on loan to the relegated club from Monterrey, has other options in Mexico, MLS and Europe, according to ESPN Mexico.

The Peru international would prefer to stay in Mexico, where Cruz Azul has expressed interest, after his quick adaptation to Liga MX.


Jimenez heading for the exit at Benfica


Raul Jimenez is one of several players Benfica will sell this summer in an effort to raise funds, according to A BolaA potential replacement for him at Benfica is current Pumas forward Nicolas Castillo, according to  ESPN Mexico .

The Mexican forward previously has been linked with a move to Everton, but the asking price was too high for the Premier League club.


Rayados set to name Alonso coach


Diego Alonso will be announced as Monterrey manager, according to Record.

The Uruguayan took Pachuca to a league and CONCACAF Champions League title but hasn't made the playoffs in the last three seasons and was given his marching orders from Pachuca. He now is set to take over a club with a different strategy after Antonio Mohamed resigned his post because of postseason disappointments.


Govea with interest in Belgium


Despite falling out with his coach in Belgium, Omar Govea may be staying in the country, according to Walfoot.

The San Luis Potosi native was on loan from Porto with Royal Excel Mouscron but hasn't been with the team for several weeks. He has, however, drawn the attention of Gent, who have discussed a move for the midfielder with Porto.


Pizarro between Monterrey or Europe move


Chivas intend to sell Rodolfo Pizarro this summer with the player set to choose between trying his luck in Europe or heading north to Monterrey, according to various reports.

Multimedios reported that center back Cesar Montes may be part of the deal, while La Aficion indicated that while Pizarro has interest from the Netherlands the move to Monterrey may be worth more money.
