Pastore leaves PSG exit door ajar for Liverpool and Inter

The Argentine playmaker has been linked with a move away from the French champions for some time, and he is ruling nothing out ahead of the summer

Javier Pastore is keeping the summer transfer door open for Inter and Liverpool, with the Argentine playmaker unable to commit his future to Paris Saint-Germain.

Amid fierce competition for attacking berths at Parc des Princes, the 28-year-old has long been linked with a move elsewhere.

A switch to Serie A side Inter appeared to be on the cards in January, but no deal was done and it may be that past suitors such as Liverpool and Manchester United rekindle their interest when the next window of opportunity opens.

Pastore is ruling nothing out at this stage, with just one year remaining on his current contract, but he is determined to bask in PSG’s Ligue 1 title triumph for now while also seeking to help them complete a domestic treble in the Coupe de France.

Quizzed on his future by Premium Sport, the South American said: “What will I do this summer? I still don’t know.

“I want to end the season well. We have another cup to win and we’ll give it our all. As for after that, we’ll see.”

Pastore has been restricted to just 17 starts for PSG this season, with the likes of Angel Di Maria, Julian Draxler, Edinson Cavani, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe ahead of him in the pecking order.

He was, however, to be given 90 minutes in a title-clinching 7-1 mauling of Monaco on Sunday – a game in which he provided two assists – and is delighted to have got his hands on more silverware.

“This season is more beautiful because we lost the title last time out,” he added.

“This season we’ve had a great campaign. We beat Monaco 7-1 and this win gives us strength to end the season well.

“We knew that we’d be crowned champions if we won. We needed to make it happen and we had a great match.

“The result is what it is, but Monaco are still a great team.”
